The ICT Unit ensures proper use of ICT infrastructure and solutions to facilitate the Council’s day-to-day activities.

Functions

  • Responsible for the successful installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software applications in the Council.
  • Responsible for the administration of basic maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Hardware infrastructure and the Internet and E-Mail services of the Council.
  • Prepare the overall design and ensure full implementation of the Council's web systems with necessary linkages.
  • Oversee the development of various web applications and their deployment and ensure that appropriate user-friendly and web-based information systems, procedures and controls are in place and correctly implemented by other staff of the Council.
  • Provide technical assistance to other Departments/Units in the use of ICT infrastructure.
