REGISTRATION AND LICENSING DEPARTMENT

The department is responsible for carrying out activities directly involving the issuing of certificate of registration to Food Scientists and Technologists and their annual license as well as issuing annual licenses to relevant food premises of all categories where the professionals work.

Other Functions include:
 
  • Provide back-end support for the website in the screening and processing of applications for:

        a. Registration as Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria (CFSN).

        b. Licence to practise as Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria                     (CFSN). 

       c. Renewal of licence to practise as Certified Food Scientist of                Nigeria (CFSN).

        d. Licencing of Food Business Premises in Nigeria. 

        e. Renewal of licence of Food Business Premises in Nigeria.

  • Liaise with the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) for the regular transmission of the updated register of NIFST members or clearance from NIFST of those that qualify to be enrolled in the NiCFoST.
  • Maintain register of Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria and other registration matters involving NIFST.
  • Process the registration as Certified Food Scientist of Nigeria          (CFSN).
  • Process the issuance of renewable Annual Practice licence of        Food Science and Technology professionals.
  • Process the issuance of renewable Food Business Premises         Licence.
