The Legal Unit deals mainly with proffering legal advice to the management of the Council, facilitating the Council’s compliance with the requirements of the law in the implementation of its programmes and projects and representing the Council in legal matters.

Functions 

• Legal representation for the Council.

• Keep the Council’s operations compliant with all the relevant regulations legislation as may demand.

• Provide legal advisory for the Council.

• Draft, vet and negotiate contract agreements, and external correspondences on behalf of the Council.

• Advise in respect of policy formulation and implementation for the Council.

• Conduct legal search and investigation on transactions involving the Council and preparation of title document thereof, and

• In-charge of internal and external conflict resolutions; and form part of disciplinary panel as the circumstance may warrant.
